Blanca Llum Vidal (1986) was born in Barceloneta, spent her adolescence in Casserres and now lives in Moc de Collserola. Whenever she can, she retreats to Felanitx, Mallorca: a place full of anarchy and sheepfolds. When she enrolled in Biology, they told her she was a “mistakenly-shod mule”. Within a year, she agreed with them and decided to study Social Work and Catalan Studies instead. She is currently completing a master’s degree in Philosophy with a dissertation on Thomas the Obscure (Thomas l’Obscur) by Maurice Blanchot. Alongside Arnau Pons, she translated The Pain (El Dolor) by Marguerite Duras. She edited the tales of Víctor Català and has undertaken to produce an anthology of the works of feminist essayist Maria Aurèlia Capmany. She regularly writes for the weekly cultural and political publication El Temps. She has published The Goat that was There (La cabra que hi havia), Us and You (Nosaltres i tu), Long Live Men and Birds (Homes i ocells, Visca!), Bloody Flower (Punyetera flor), Maripasoula – the Tale of a Journey in French Guyana (Maripasoula (crònica d’un viatge a la Guaiana francesa)), This Love that isn’t One (Aquest amor que no és u, translated by Berta García Faet) and A Fighting Love (Amor a la Brega).
