Alfred Bosch

Alfred Bosch is an historian, writer and politician. He has been professor of Contemporary History of Africa at the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, and has also been a contributor in several newspapers and magazines such as Avui, El Periódico, El Temps or Diari de Barcelona. He is the author of several books such as La Via Africana: velles identitats, nous estats (1996), El Imperio que nunca existió (2001) and Europa sense embuts. Carta a un amic africà (2003). In 2011 he published I ara què?, an essay on the political changes in Catalonia. In the field of fiction, he has published L’atles furtiu (1997), Àlia la sublim (2000), L’avi (2000), the trilogy 1714 (2002), Les set aromes del món (2004) and Inquisitio (2006,). He has been director of the Centre for Contemporary Studies (2007-2010) and, after being Councilman of the Barcelona City Council, he is currently Minister of Foreign Affairs, Institutional Relations and Transparency of the Government of the Generalitat of Catalonia.
