Carl Hoefer
Carl Hoefer is an ICREA research professor at the University of Barcelona and a PhD in Philosophy from Stanford University. He is currently director of the Barcelona Institute of Analytical Philosophy (BIAP). His research interests focus on ancient metaphysical questions that examine the metaphysics of nature that derives from scientific theories. In particular, he works on the nature of space, time and motion, especially in the field of Einstein’s theories of relativity, and on the nature of objective probability. During the years 2009 and 2017 he was founding editor of the European Journal for Philosophy of Science, published by Springer. He has worked at the University of California, the London School of Economics and the Research Group in Epistemology and Cognitive Sciences (GRECC) of the UAB.
