Cesc Amat is a political scientist and deputy director of the Research Group on Institutions and Political Economy (IPERG) of the University of Barcelona (UB). He holds a doctorate in Political Science from the University of Oxford and is a researcher through the La Caixa Junior Leader Fellow scholarship. His main fields of research are comparative politics and political economy. He is the author of several academic articles, including “Democracy in Hard Times: Economic Shocks, Social Capital and Voting Patterns” (2020) or “La redistribució a les democracies parlamentàries: els efectes de la politica multidimensional” (2015).
