Cristina de la Serna
Cristina de la Serna is a lawyer and political scientist specialised in defending human rights. She works as head of the Equality and Fight against Discrimination Department at the Gypsy Secretariat Foundation. Previously, she has worked for various organisations – both national ones in Spain and international organisations – such as Open Society Justice Initiative, Rights International Spain and Plan International. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Law, Political Sciences and Public Administration from the Autonomous University of Madrid, as well as a master’s degree in International Human Rights Protection from the University of Alcalá. Throughout her professional career, she has focused on how different forms of discrimination (against racial or ethnic origin, gender, or childhood, among others) can impact people’s practical and effective usage of their rights and freedom.
