Elsa Aimé González

Elsa Aimé González is an associate professor in the Department of International Relations at the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences of the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas. She works as a researcher in the African Studies Group and the International Relations Study Group from the Autonomous University of Madrid. She is also the coordinator for Sub-Saharan Africa in the Spanish think tank Fundación Alternativas. She holds a degree in History and a PhD in International Relations and African Studies from the Autonomous University of Madrid. Her main areas of research include the history of Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa, as well as the theory of International Relations. She also works on the field of Spanish and EU development cooperation policies in Africa. She has carried out research stays at the Centre d’Étude d’Afrique Noire – CEAN in Bordeaux, the Centre d’Études des Mondes Africains – CEMAf in Paris and the Centre Français des Études Éthiopiennes in Addis Ababa. She has participated as a researcher in the research project “Monitoring Conflicts in the Horn of Africa” directed by Alexandra Dias.
