Iván Navarro Millán works as a researcher for the Conflict and Peacebuilding Programme at the Escola de Cultura de Pau (School for a Culture of Peace) from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). He is also a researcher at the African Studies Group (GEA-UAM). He holds a degree in Sociology and a PhD in International Relations and African Studies from the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM). He holds a Master’s degree in International Relations and African Studies from the UAM and a Postgraduate Degree in Community Development from the UAQ (Mexico). His main research areas include the analysis of armed conflict on the African continent, especially in the case of Uganda and the Great Lakes region. He has worked for nearly twenty years in the International Development Cooperation field, living in Uganda for six years. He is editor and co-founder of the online analysis magazine Africaye.org. He is also co-founder and member of the PolePole Association for Social Transformation. He is lecturer in the Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations at the Open University of Catalonia (UOC), as well as in several master’s and university post-graduate programmes from UAB, UB and Ramon Llull University, teaching on armed conflicts and peace building, development cooperation, project management and participatory methodologies.
