Jordi Vaquer is Director for Global Foresight and Analysis at the Open Society Foundations, a global philanthropic network organization that works to promote human rights, open societies, civil liberties and democratic practice. He is also co-director of the Open Society Initiative for Europe. He holds a PhD in International Relations from the London School of Economics and was director of CIDOB (Center for International Studies and Documentation of Barcelona) during the period 2008-2012. As a International Affairs analyst, he regularly collaborates with various media, including newspapers such as ARA, El País and El Periódico. Between 2009 and 2011, he was the coordinator of EU4Seas, a European Commission-funded research program aiming to analyse the effects of European policies on cooperation in the Mediterranean, Baltic, Caspian and Black Sea. Vaquer is also a member of the editorial board of the CIDOB Journal of International Affairs and an affiliate professor at the Barcelona Institute for International Studies (IBEI).
