Karina Gibert is a full professor at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya-BarcelonaTech (UPC) since 2018, and has been teaching at UPC since 1990. Co-founder and currently member of the board of the Intelligent Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Research center at UPC. Vice-Dean on Big Data, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence of the Official Professional Chamber of Informatics Engineering of Catalonia. Member of the governmental working team Catalonia.AI and co-writter of the Catalan Strategic Plan for AI of the catalan government. Assessing the European Comission in ethics and Artificial Intelligence. Editor of JRC journal Environmental Modelling and Software. With a Bachelor in Informatics Engineering (computational statistics and Artificial Intelligence specialities), a Ph.D. in Computer Science, and postgraduate in University Teaching, she leads several courses on Statistics, Multivariate Analysis, Data Mining, Data Science and Intelligent Decision Support.
