Maurizio Viroli
Maurizio Viroli is a professor, essayist and researcher in Political Philosophy and History of Political Thought. He is an Emeritus Professor of Political Theory at Princeton University, and teaches at the University of Texas (Austin). Heis also director the Center for Civic Studies at the University of Italian Switzerland (Lugano), where he is a professor of Political Communication. He has written extensively on republicanism and constitutionalism, the relations between politics and religion, the ideas of Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Italian politics and nationalism. He is the author of several books as Republicanism (2001) and From Politics to Reason of State. The Acquisition and Transformation of the Language of Politics (1250-1600) (2009).
