Michael Walzer
Michael Walzer is a philosopher specialized in Political Philosophy, professor emeritus at the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton, and editor of Dissent. He graduated from Brandeis University, later studied at Cambridge University and received his doctorate degree from Harvard University. He has written on a large variety of topics related to political theory and moral philosophy, political obligation, fair and unfair war, nationalism and ethnicity, economic justice and the welfare state. He is currently working on issues related to international justice and the relationship between religion and politics, while also collaborating on a project that addresses the history of Jewish political thought. His most relevant publications are Just and Unjust War (1977), Spheres of Justice (1983), Arguing about War (2004), The Paradox of Liberation: Secular Revolutions and Religious Counterrevolutions (2015) and A Foreign Policy for the Left (2018).
