Tassadit Yacine
Tassadit Yacine is an Algerian anthropologist specialising in Berber culture. She is Director of Study at l’Ecole des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) in Paris and member of the department of social anthropology at the Collège de France. She directs Awal journal, founded in 1985 in Paris with the Algerian anthropologist Mouloud Mammeri and the sociologist Pierre Bourdieu to explore Berber life. She is specialized in anthropology of domination, with a special focus on issues related to language and gender relations. She authored the book Chacal ou la ruse des dominés: Aux origines du malaise culturel des intellectuels algériens (2001) and Si tu m’aimes, guéris-moi (2006).
