He is also co-director of the Open Society Initiative for Europe. He holds a PhD in International Relations from the London School of Economics and was director of CIDOB (Center for International Studies and Documentation of Barcelona) during the period 2008-2012. As a International Affairs analyst, he regularly collaborates with various media, including newspapers such as <em>ARA<\/em>, <em>El Pa\u00eds<\/em> and <em>El Peri\u00f3dico<\/em>. Between 2009 and 2011, he was the coordinator of <em>EU4Seas<\/em>, a European Commission-funded research program aiming to analyse the effects of European policies on cooperation in the Mediterranean, Baltic, Caspian and Black Sea.
