He holds a PhD in Law and he is professor at the Area of \u200b\u200bPublic International Law and International Relations in Rovira i Virgili University (URV). His main fields of study are the European Union&#8217;s foreign policy, the relations between Europe and local bodies, the legal regime of international and European security and defense, public participation processes and self-determination and secession processes. During the period 2011-2015, he was Dean of the Faculty of Law at Rovira i Virgili University and member of the Center for Studies in Environmental Law of Tarragona (CEDAT). He has also been a visiting researcher at the European University Institute (1994) and a fellow of the NATO Research Fellowships Program (1996-1998). He is member of the European Foreign Policy Observatory of the Barcelona Institute of International Studies (IBEI) and he is currently working on the research group &#8220;Territory, Citizenship and Sustainability&#8221; at the URV.
