She holds a PhD from the State University of New York and from the UPV, and specialises in gender history. In recent years her research has focused on the history of masculinities and of contemporary feminism. She is the author of <em>Masculinidades en tela de juicio. Hombres y g\u00e9nero en el primer tercio del siglo XX<\/em> (2010) and <em>M\u00e9dicos, donjuanes y mujeres modernas. Los ideales de feminidad y masculinidad en el primer tercio del siglo XX<\/em> (2001). Her most recent work is entitled \u201cA Fight for Real Men: Gender and Nation-Building during the Primo de Rivera Dictatorship (1923\u20131930)\u201d, published at the <em>European History Quarterly<\/em>. In 2018 she won the Asociaci\u00f3n de Historia Contempor\u00e1nea award for the best article published in 2017 for \u201cEl gentleman y el b\u00e1rbaro. Masculinidad y civilizaci\u00f3n en el nacionalismo vasco (1893-1937)\u201d (<em>Cuadernos de Historia Contempor\u00e1ne<\/em>a).
