Elsa Aim\u00e9 Gonz\u00e1lez is an associate professor in the Department of International Relations at the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences of the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas. She works as a researcher in the African Studies Group and the International Relations Study Group from the Autonomous University of Madrid. She is also the coordinator for Sub-Saharan Africa in the Spanish think tank Fundaci\u00f3n Alternativas. She holds a degree in History and a PhD in International Relations and African Studies from the Autonomous University of Madrid. Her main areas of research include the history of Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa, as well as the theory of International Relations. She also works on the field of Spanish and EU development cooperation policies in Africa. She has carried out research stays at the Centre d’\u00c9tude d’Afrique Noire – CEAN in Bordeaux, the Centre d’\u00c9tudes des Mondes Africains – CEMAf in Paris and the Centre Fran\u00e7ais des \u00c9tudes \u00c9thiopiennes in Addis Ababa.
