Ortwin Renn is the Scientific Director of the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies (IASS) in Potsdam, Germany. He is a professor of Technology Assessment and Environmental Sociology and runs the non-profit company DIALOGIK, an institute for research on communication and participation processes. He is also an adjunct professor of Integrated Risk Analysis at the University of Stavanger (Norway) and an associated professor of Risk Governance at Beijing Normal University.
