Grischa Beier studied Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University of Ilmenau (Germany). In 2006 he joined Fraunhofer IPK as a research assistant, where he worked on various research and industry projects. He earned his PhD in engineering from TU Berlin in January 2014, with a distinction for his work on the use of traceability data in systems engineering. Grischa Beier joined the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies (IASS) in 2014 and in 2017 became the leader of the research group on \u201cDigitization and Impacts on Sustainability,\u201d which explores the effects of digitization on industrial sustainability.
