Lucila Mallart is a Juan de la Cierva postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Humanities at Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona. She is part of the Research Group on Empires Metropolis and Extra-European Empires Societies (GRIMSE-UPF). In 2016 she received a PhD in Contemporary European History at the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom. Her thesis analyzed the contribution of the architect, politician and art historian Josep Puig i Cadafalch (1867\u20131956) to the construction of contemporary Catalan identity. Her research focuses on the relationship between national identities and visual culture, urban planning, design of exhibitions and historiography. Her research has been financed by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science, the Catalan Women’s Institute, the German Service of Academic Exchange, the Faculty of History of the University of Nottingham and the Fritz Thyssen Foundation (Germany).
