He began his teaching career at the Universidad de Salamanca, where he received his PhD in 2000. He has published several works in Portuguese and Spanish on Iberian themes: <em>Garrett e Rivas: o romantismo em Espanha e Portugal<\/em> (2009), <em>Los secretos de Portugal<\/em> (2012), <em>Como sobreviver a Portugal continuando a ser Portugu\u00eas<\/em> (2014), <em>Los espa\u00f1oles<\/em> (2016) and <em>El pa\u00eds que nunca existi\u00f3<\/em> (2023). He received the Revelation Award from the Portuguese Writers Association for his novel <em>N\u00e3o Tenhas Medo do Escuro<\/em> (2009). He is also the author of other novels, such as <em>Madrugada na Tua Alma<\/em> (2011) and <em>Os Crimes Inocentes<\/em> (2018). His books have been translated into Catalan, Spanish and Italian.
