He is one of the most important representatives of political philosophy. He has published many books and articles, translated into 32 languages. His most relevant works are <em>Contemporary Political Philosophy: An Introduction<\/em> (1990), <em>Multicultural Citizenship: A Liberal Theory of Minority Rights<\/em> (1999), <em>States, Nations and Cultures<\/em> (2004) and <em>Politics in the Vernacular: Nationalism, Multiculturalism, Citizenship<\/em> (2009).
