The United States presidential election on November 5 will be a turning point in American politics. In a context of increasing polarization, polls show Donald Trump and Kamala Harris neck and neck. Who will finally win the US presidential race? What consequences will the election results have? Will the outcome represent a democratic resurgence, or an illiberal drift? To what extent will it determine the model of society that American citizens choose?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On November 7 at 3:00 pm<\/strong> we will analyse the results of the presidential election in the United States with Roger Senserrich<\/strong>, political scientist and writer based in New Haven, Connecticut. He works as Communications Director at the Connecticut Working Families Party and authored the book Por qu\u00e9 se rompi\u00f3 Estados Unidos: Populismo y polarizaci\u00f3n en la era Trump <\/em>(2024) \u2014Why America Broke: Populism and Polarization in the Trump Era<\/em>\u2014. Senserrich will help us understand the election results and the particular circumstances surrounding them: what influence has had the sudden change of the Democrats’ candidate on the electoral strategies of both parties? How can we explain Trump’s “abduction” of the Republican Party? Will the increasing political polarization continue after the election? How can the democratic crisis in the US be solved?
