According to Manuel Castells, when people feel like orphans of the state as an instrument of representation and meaning, they tend to reconstruct their meaning in identities built on some cultural attribute. In this context, the ability of so-called resistance identities to transform into project identities \u2013offering prospects that all members of a society can identify with\u2013 is the only thing that can save the world from a life divided by the structures of power and fundamentalist communes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
