In recent weeks, the issue of European security has come back to the public debate. In mid-March, the European Commission presented the White Paper for European Defence in order to frame a new approach, with urgent actions so that the EU can stop possible external aggression on its own. Which are the reasons for this strategic change? What implications does it have for the arms industry? Will strategic autonomy be achieved? What new alliances does the current geopolitical context imply? How should we act to face non-military threats such as disinformation, cyberattacks and hybrid warfare? To what extent can the ReArm Europe Plan – Readiness 2030 endanger the welfare state?
