Stephen Armstrong es periodista freelance y escritor. Habitualmente, escribe para el Sunday Times, Wired, Daily Telegraph y The Guardian, entre otros medios. Es autor de cinco libros de no ficción: The White Island (2004), War plc: The Rise of the New Corporate Mercenary (2008), The Super Rich Shall Inherit the Earth (2010), The Road to Wigan Pier Revisited (2012) y The New Poverty (2017). Fundó los encuentros Wigan Pier Workshops en colaboración con el English PEN, la organización Interncional de escritores a favor de los derechos humanos, y es miembro del Orwell Youth Prize y de la RSA.
